Ryan Wesley Routh, the individual charged with an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a West Palm Beach golf resort, has been revealed to have engaged in troubling conduct in the past. Notably, Routh was involved in an indecent exposure incident while working on a construction job at a woman’s residence in Hawaii.
The unsettling event took place in December 2020, during which Routh was hired through Facebook to construct a loft and was paid $4,000 for four days of work. The woman described Routh as showing inappropriate behavior and managed to capture an image of him exposing himself while holding a hammer and smiling at the camera. This occurred after Routh requested she take another picture. Initially, the woman reacted by laughing it off and avoided Routh for the remainder of the project’s duration.
Aside from this incident, Routh’s background features various encounters with law enforcement, including arrests related to firearms. Additionally, he has traveled to Ukraine to participate in their military efforts and has been publicly critical of Donald Trump on various social media platforms prior to his arrest for the alleged assassination attempt.
Comments from Routh’s attorney regarding these allegations have not been forthcoming, and attempts to reach his family for a statement have been unsuccessful.
The recent disclosures underscore the implications of Routh’s complicated and alarming past and emphasize the importance of conducting comprehensive background checks and stringent vetting for individuals being considered for work in private or sensitive positions.
