Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Miami, Florida, on accusations of public intoxication and reckless behavior, the Miami Herald reported. The event took place on June 20, 2024.
Authorities informed the Miami Herald that Jacques Webster, known professionally as Travis Scott, was taken into custody around 5 p.m. in the vicinity of the James L. Knight Center, where he was set to perform at the E11EVEN nightclub later that evening.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched following reports of a man causing a disturbance nearby. They encountered Scott who appeared unstable on his feet, exhibited slurred speech, and exuded a strong smell of alcohol. He was subsequently apprehended for public intoxication and reckless behavior.
Following his arrest, Scott was booked into the Miami-Dade craftingy Jail where he was photographed for a mug shot and later released on bail.
This arrest occurred shortly after Scott’s much-awaited headline performance at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami.
Requests for comments from Travis Scott’s representatives have yet to receive responses.
This is not the musician’s first encounter with the law. In 2017, he faced arrest charges related to inciting a riot during a performance in Arkansas, where he eventually pled guilty to disorderly conduct and had to pay a fine of $7,500.
Despite these legal issues, Scott continues to maintain his status as a significant player in the music scene, with numerous popular singles and collaborations with renowned artists.
The case stemming from the Miami incident remains open and additional charges might be forthcoming.
