In recent legal challenges, Sean “Diddy” Combs is confronted with fresh allegations of rape as his newest accuser, Thalia Graves, vocalizes her complaints about the renowned music figure. Accompanied by her lawyer, Gloria Allred, Graves held a press event in Los Angeles to publicly discuss the claims.
Graves relates that back in 2001, at the age of 25 and while in a relationship with one of the executives from Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, she was enticed into Diddy’s private lounge and workspace at the Bad Boy Records studio in New York City. Her lawsuit alleges that Diddy provided her with a drink laced with a drug, which led her to lose consciousness. It was during this impaired state that she accuses Diddy of raping her on a pool table. According to Graves, Joseph Sherman, the head of security at the time, was present and participated in the assault.
Moreover, Graves charges that this assault was videotaped on a handheld camera, footage that was allegedly shown to her then-boyfriend and other individuals. She was made aware of the existence of this video in November 2023, a disclosure that purportedly resurrected past trauma and provoked suicidal ideations.
The filed lawsuit further accuses Diddy and Sherman of recording the sexual assault and distributing this video as a form of degradation. Since the alleged assault, Graves claims to have endured acute depression, anxiety, and fear, particularly of Diddy and Sherman.
Representing Graves in this case, Gloria Allred pointed out that these allegations are distinct from the other legal issues Diddy is currently facing, which include accusations of sex trafficking, kidnapping, and racketeering. The press conference, which was broadcast live, forms a part of the broader effort to draw public attention to Graves’ allegations.
As the lawsuit progresses, it joins a series of other sexual abuse claims against Diddy who is presently detained in New York City after being arrested and charged. Graves seeks compensation from Diddy, Sherman, and Bad Boy Records for the pain and trauma she alleges to have endured over the years.
