Actor and comedian Rob Schneider recently extended an apology to singer Elle King following his contentious remarks about her on a social media platform.
Previously, Schneider expressed his disapproval of King’s performance on “The Today Show” through a tweet, stating, “I don’t know who this woman is but she is disturbingly rude, profane and unfunny. Someone needs to tell her to go back to her day job at the post office.”
King, who is in the midst of promoting her latest album, “Shake The Spirit,” responded to Schneider’s criticism on Instagram. She addressed him directly, saying, “Dear Rob Schneider, I hope you are having a better day today than you were yesterday. I’m sorry that you’re in such a dark place that you have to take it out on me. I pray you find happiness.”
Following the exchange, Schneider removed his initial tweets and publicly apologized on Twitter, acknowledging his mistake. He stated, “I sincerely apologize to Elle King for my insensitive and stupid remarks. I was wrong to judge her based on a small clip I saw and I was wrong to post something negative. I am truly sorry and I apologize to Elle and her fans.”
King graciously accepted Schneider’s apology, expressing her gratitude on Instagram. She said, “Thank you for your apology, Rob. I appreciate it and I accept it. I hope you have a great day and I hope you find the happiness you are looking for.”
Schneider is no stranger to controversy, having faced criticism in the past over his comments on various societal issues, including vaccinations and political matters.
Despite the negative attention, Schneider maintains an active online presence, regularly engaging with his audience through posts and comments.
Meanwhile, King remains focused on her career, eagerly anticipating the launch of her new album and a forthcoming national tour set for later this year.
