Mixed martial arts enthusiast Nate Diaz has lodged a complaint against the organizers of the fanmio platform, claiming they have failed to pay him $9 million owed from his notable exhibition match with Jorge Masvidal in 2021.

During an interview with a leading MMA news outlet, Diaz reported that despite the event’s popularity and substantial revenue, he has not yet received the complete payment for his participation. The match, deemed a “people’s main event,” drew a large in-person audience and garnered extensive pay-per-view purchases, ranking it among the most lucrative combat sports events of that year.

According to Diaz, he has received only a small portion of the promised $9 million fee for the event. He accused fanmio’s event organizers of breaking their contractual agreement and withholding the majority of his fee.

Additionally, Kevin Mubenga, Diaz’s manager, confirmed the partial payment issue and voiced concerns over fanmio’s actions, suggesting they were exploiting Diaz. He revealed they intend to pursue legal avenues to claim the unpaid earnings.

To date, fanmio has not provided a response to these allegations. Meanwhile, Diaz has expressed his determination to fight for the full amount due to him, stating, “I’m not backing down. I’m going to keep pushing until I get what’s rightfully mine.”

The controversy has stirred considerable support for Diaz from fans and industry observers alike, many of whom have demanded that fanmio settle its debt to the fighter.

As the dispute unfolds, the impact of this financial battle on Diaz’s career and his ongoing involvement in the sport are yet to be determined.
