Country music artist Maren Morris is embracing Pride Month by sharing more about her personal life. In a recent interview, the singer of “Girl” disclosed that she identifies as bisexual.

Married to fellow musician Ryan Hurd, Morris expressed her longtime affinity for the LGBTQ+ community and her desire to be transparent about her sexuality.

“In all honesty, I have never really discussed this openly, but I’ve always been attracted to women,” she shared. “I’ve explored this part of my identity and have discussed it with my husband, who is completely supportive.”

Morris emphasized her desire to support others in feeling comfortable with their authentic selves.

“My goal is to support and be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. I hope that being honest about myself can play a part in making everyone feel acknowledged and embraced for who they are,” she remarked.

Morris joins other country musicians like Chely Wright, Ty Herndon, and Billy Gilman, who have also publicly shared their membership in the LGBTQ+ community.

Additionally, Morris is gearing up for the release of her new album “Humble Quest,” which is set to debut on June 24. She has already launched several singles from the album, including “Circles Around This Town” and “Background Music,” and she plans to tour extensively to promote her new work in the coming months.

A vocal champion for LGBTQ+ rights, Morris has leveraged her platform to combat discrimination and promote equality. In 2020, she performed at the online “Love Rising” concert, which gathered funds for LGBTQ+ organizations in Tennessee.

Beyond her advocacy, Morris is also candid about her mental health struggles, highlighting the importance of seeking assistance and community support.

With her recent statements, Morris continues her efforts to foster a culture of acceptance and encouragement, inspiring others to embrace their identity wholeheartedly.
