Justin Timberlake has postponed his upcoming concert in Newark, New Jersey, due to an undisclosed injury. The music artist informed fans of this development through social media, expressing his intentions to compensate ticket holders.
“The postponement of tonight’s show is truly upsetting to me. I am currently dealing with an injury that makes it impossible for me to perform. It’s incredibly disappointing not to connect with all of you tonight, but I am making arrangements to reschedule as soon as possible. I am committed to providing the exceptional performance you all deserve,” Timberlake shared in a post on Instagram.
An individual close to Timberlake indicated that his injury involves his ankle and noted that a physician was present at the concert the night before to assess his condition. Despite these challenges, Timberlake is still eager to continue his “Forget Tomorrow” tour. He aims to be on stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by October 11, depending on his recovery progress.
This postponement is part of a tumultuous year for Timberlake, highlighted by a June arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, for driving while intoxicated. Timberlake entered a plea agreement, pleading guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired. As a result, he was required to complete 25 hours of community service and pay fines and surcharges totaling $760. He also created a public safety announcement after his plea.
Even amidst these legal issues, Timberlake has remained dedicated to his tour, demonstrating his professional commitment and passion for performing. Nevertheless, the need to delay the Newark concert has left many fans in anticipation of a new date for the event.
While the rescheduled Newark concert date is still pending, Timberlake continues to show deep appreciation for his fans’ support and patience, assuring them of an outstanding performance once he fully recovers.
