Hugh Jackman is actively participating in efforts to locate Zelig Williams, a Broadway dancer who has been unaccounted for since October 3. Williams, 28, known for his roles in “MJ The Musical” and “Hamilton,” was last seen at his residence in Columbia, South Carolina.

Zelig Williams is a distinguished performer with extensive experience in theater. He was part of the “Hamilton” ensemble for just over five months starting in October 2016 and was an original cast member in “MJ The Musical,” portraying Marlon Jackson and James Brown. Williams also worked alongside Hugh Jackman during the 2019 concert tour “The Man. The Music. The Show.”

On Thursday, October 3, Williams was last spotted at his home in Columbia, South Carolina. After not hearing from him for more than 24 hours, which was unusual for Williams, his family reported him missing. His mother indicated to the authorities that not only had communication ceased, but her son also required prescription medication.

Leading the search, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department discovered Williams’ car parked near Congaree National Park, a vast area encompassing over 500 miles across South Carolina. Initially, his family feared a traffic accident may have occurred due to an SOS signal from his phone. However, his vehicle showed no signs of an accident.

The ongoing search operations involve ground and aerial searches and the use of cell phone tracking and other investigative methods led by authorities.

Hugh Jackman reached out on social media, urging anyone with information about Williams’ whereabouts to contact local law enforcement. Jackman’s message emphasized his personal concern and support, noting, “Zelig we love you and are praying for your safe return. Please pass this message on!!!” His call has garnered significant attention within the theater community, prompting further calls for assistance.

Williams’ relatives have also spoken out. His aunt conveyed the family’s anguish in a social media post and implored people to share Williams’ photos and videos. She expressed hope for his safe return and the necessity of widespread support to spread awareness.

In terms of personal milestones, Williams celebrated his 28th birthday recently and had conducted a workshop at Palmetto Performing Arts in Columbia just before his disappearance, showcasing his dedication to mentoring aspiring Broadway talents.

As the search persists, there is a strong collective response from both the local community and the theater world. The case is currently treated as a missing persons case, with local authorities asking for any information that might assist their efforts. While no foul play has been indicated, all possibilities remain open.

The community’s collective efforts are focused on finding Williams and ensuring his swift return. With continued support and awareness, the hope remains strong that Zelig Williams will soon reunite with his family and return to his passion on the stage.
