Several physicians linked to former “Friends” actor Matthew Perry find themselves facing legal troubles due to accusations of excessively prescribing medications.

Reports indicate that four medical professionals who provided care to Perry are now facing charges for the illegal issuance of prescriptions over a period spanning 2014 to 2017. The identities of these doctors have been kept confidential, and they are accused of handing out substantial quantities of controlled substances to Perry.

Although Perry has openly discussed his battles with addiction, he has not been implicated in any misconduct concerning this incident. The investigation was allegedly initiated because of concerns regarding the actor’s health.

Following an extensive investigation by authorities in Los Angeles, these medical practitioners could experience severe repercussions, including potential incarceration and the revocation of their medical practicing rights, should they be found guilty.

No comments have been made from Perry’s side concerning the legal issues facing his former doctors. However, Perry has been public about his recovery journey and commitment to staying sober.

Reflecting on his challenges and recovery, in a 2013 discussion, Perry mentioned, “I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I’ve learned a lot from my failures. But the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic comes into my life, I can tell them where to go to get help. I don’t have any shame about it.” Perry’s remarks highlight his dedication to supporting others battling similar issues.
