Blueface’s incarceration journey has begun as he transitions from Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles to North Kern State Prison in central California. Updates on his adjustment to prison life were highlighted with the release of a new mugshot showing him in an orange jumpsuit, a departure from his typical hairstyle.
Now settled in the general population of the medium-security prison, Blueface is engaging in several corrective programs. These programs aim to aid in his rehabilitation and include educational courses, vocational training, and preparation for GED or high school diplomas. Additionally, the facility offers inmates access to religious services, self-improvement groups, and substance abuse support.
The rapper’s imprisonment follows a probation violation stemming from a 2021 assault case which led to a four-year sentence. Since surrendering this January, he’s been held in custody. While serving his sentence, prison staff are evaluating his medical and psychological needs, social history, and other factors to tailor suitable educational and work assignments for him.
During a recent conversation on the ‘Effective Immediately’ podcast, Blueface shared insights about his life in imprisonment. He described his incarceration as “a little break from responsibility” and mentioned he’s doing well. He also disclosed there’s been a noticeable change in his weight, which is now close to 180 pounds.
Regarding his personal life, Blueface touched upon his ongoing connection with Chrisean Rock, saying they keep in touch even as she faces her own legal troubles in Oklahoma. Chrisean is dealing with serious allegations, which could lead her to face up to eight years in prison if convicted.
As Blueface progresses through his sentence, his focus is on self-improvement and readying himself for a more positive future post-release. With access to beneficial programs while incarcerated, he has the resources to work towards significant personal development.
