Country music artist Billy Ray Cyrus has initiated divorce proceedings from his spouse, Firerose, after a marriage of less than one year.

Legal documents reviewed by a media source reveal that Cyrus submitted the divorce petition in Tennessee on June 11, 2024. The couple had previously exchanged vows in a discreet ceremony in Los Angeles in August 2023.

Cyrus, renowned for his iconic track “Achy Breaky Heart,” has experienced divorce previously. His first marriage, with Cindy Smith, concluded in 1991, and he was later married to Tish Finch from 1993 until their split in 2020. Cyrus and Finch share five children, including pop star Miley Cyrus.

Firerose, born Alicia Guastaferro, is also a singer-songwriter. The relationship between Cyrus and Guastaferro blossomed into romance in 2022 after years of friendship.

The specifics behind Cyrus’s decision to divorce or the existence of any prenuptial agreement between the couple remains unclear. Neither Cyrus’s nor Firerose’s representatives have made any statements regarding the separation.

Further details regarding the divorce are expected to emerge, and updates will follow as they become available.
