The German Shepherd belonging to President Joe Biden, named Commander, has come into the spotlight after allegedly biting secret service agents. The reported incident occurred at the President’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware.
Insiders familiar with the matter indicate that Commander, who was welcomed into the Biden household in December 2021, has previously shown signs of aggression towards secret service personnel. The specific reasons triggering the dog’s behavior during the recent event are still uncertain.
As of now, there has been no formal statement from the secret service about the biting. It has been noted, however, that the agents involved did not need medical treatment. The possibility of any punitive measures against Commander or adjustments within the Biden family has yet to be determined.
This isn’t the first instance of a pet from the Biden family gaining attention for aggressive actions. In 2021, another German Shepherd owned by the Bidens, Major, was connected with multiple biting occurrences, which eventually led to the dog being relocated to their home in Delaware for additional training.
Despite these challenging episodes, the Biden family is known for their affinity towards pets, particularly dogs, and they’ve spoken openly about their dedication to their animals. Commander and Major were both added to the family in 2021 after the Biden’s previous dogs, Champ and another named Major, had passed away.
As inquiries into the aggressive actions of Commander proceed, both the secret service and the Biden family are collaborating to safeguard all parties involved. It is yet to be determined if there will be any further steps taken concerning the dog’s conduct.
