The iconic rock band Aerosmith has declared they will be stepping away from touring, primarily due to ongoing vocal challenges faced by lead singer Steven Tyler. This announcement was made public via a statement on their official website and various social media channels.

At 74, Tyler has been dealing with issues related to his vocal cords for several years, and despite undergoing multiple treatments and surgeries, his performance capabilities have been significantly hampered. In the released statement, Tyler voiced his appreciation for the unwavering support from the band’s fans over the decades, acknowledging that this was not an easy decision to come to.

“It’s time for me to retire from touring and concentrate on my family, health, and other exciting projects I look forward to pursuing,” Tyler stated. “I am immensely grateful to our fans for their devotion and loyalty over the years. We owe our tremendous success to you.”

Joe Perry, the band’s guitarist, also commented on the situation, expressing his mixed emotions about the decision. “We’ve had a fantastic journey together, and I cherish every moment,” Perry remarked. “Steven’s voice has been central to Aerosmith’s achievements, and it’s deeply saddening to witness his struggles. However, I fully respect and support his decision.”

Since their formation in Boston in 1970, Aerosmith has sold over 150 million records globally, earning them a spot as one of the top-selling American rock bands ever. Their repertoire includes timeless hits like “Dream On,” “Walk This Way,” “Sweet Emotion,” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”

Dubbed “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour,” Aerosmith’s final circuit will commence in September, with concerts planned across North America, South America, and Europe. The tour promises a lineup of the band’s classic songs alongside some newer compositions they have been perfecting.

Although this marks the closing chapter of Aerosmith’s touring saga, the band remains open to the idea of producing new music and possibly performing at special events down the line. “We will forever be Aerosmith, and our fans will always hold a special place in our hearts,” Tyler emphasized. “This isn’t the end; it’s merely a new chapter.”
